Vision Statement

Empowering every organization—big or small—to embed privacy at its  core, creating a world where data is responsibly protected, trusted, and  seamlessly integrated into everyday business.

Data‑centric trust – By treating privacy as a  fundamental design principle, we help organizations earn and keep the  confidence of customers, partners, and regulators.

Scalable solutions – Our modular privacy framework  can be adopted by a solo‑entrepreneur or a mid-sized organization, ensuring  every entity can achieve compliance without excessive cost or  complexity.

Continuous education – Ongoing privacy training keep teams up‑to‑date on evolving regulations and emerging best practices.

Risk‑driven innovation – We turn privacy risk  assessments into opportunities for process improvement, turning  compliance obligations into competitive advantages.

Human‑first culture – Embedding privacy awareness  into everyday workflows cultivates a culture where employees understand  the impact of their actions on data protection.

Transparent accountability – Clear policies, audits, measurable metrics and effective communication make it easy for leadership to  demonstrate responsible data stewardship to stakeholders.

Future‑ready governance – Our programs can easily incorporate  upcoming regulatory changes and technological shifts, so organizations  stay compliant today and are prepared for tomorrow.

Together, these statements illustrate how our work turns the vision  of “privacy at the core” into tangible outcomes for every organization  we serve.

Certified Privacy Experts

Our Privacy Consultants specialize in Canadian privacy law, have  earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional Canada (CIPP/C) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and keep their expertise current through continuous  professional development.

Owner and Principal Consultant

With 25 years of senior‑level experience across business development,  risk management, operations, marketing, and communications—spanning  private firms, non‑profits, and regional government—Marilyn Sing brings a  deep, cross‑sector insight into organizational dynamics. She translates  that expertise into clear, actionable privacy programs that nurture a  lasting privacy culture and are easy for organizations to sustain.

As an instructor, Marilyn designed and delivered practical business courses  grounded in real‑world experience for Langara College, Camosun College, and Royal Roads  University.

Seeing the gap for affordable privacy guidance, she founded IPP Consulting in 2017. The firm offers tailored privacy support for SMEs, including non‑profits, and charities, that don’t need a full‑time privacy  officer—helping them build, launch, and maintain robust privacy  management programs.

From 2021-2025, Marilyn chaired the IAPP Victoria KnowledgeNet Chapter, curating educational sessions and networking events that kept local privacy professionals connected and informed.
